Our Approach
All our instructors work as skippers before training to be an instructor, so they know (and love) the area in which they teach. Sailing Holidays is an independent, family owned business. We use our own yachts and take full advantage of our shore based support team to make sure the yachts are in the best condition.
Join a training yacht
For the RYA courses you can simply book a berth on our school yacht, sharing the yacht with other students (you won’t be obliged to share a berth with someone you don’t know of course). The maximum ratio of participants to instructors, on each yacht, will be 4:1 (often 3:1).
Book a private course
Why not book a whole boat and a private instructor? With three or more of you embarking on a course there are no additional costs to pay. If you are a couple or two friends and would like a private course, you can pay an additional fee to have the instructor all to yourselves.

Our specialised training yachts & accommodation
Our courses are taught on our dedicated training boats, three Beneteau 393's. These are spacious modern cruising yachts, set up exclusively for teaching, equipped with all the essentials.
The yachts are furnished with modern instruments such as GPS, chart-plotter, Navtex and wireless wind, speed, and depth transducers. They have modern galleys which include a double sink, large fridge, and oven. Each boat is fitted with clean, modern heads and a holding tank.

Our RYA sail training is provided in conjunction with Corfu Sea School. Our main training base is Gouvia Marina on Corfu Island. Corfu Sea School has been teaching in Greece since 2001 and is a well respected RYA training centre. We first teamed up with them in 2010 to provide certified RYA tuition to meet the growing demand for professional training, to gain valuable qualifications...while sailing in the sun!

Getting to Greece
Unlike our flotilla holidays our RYA courses do not include flights and transfers as standard. Many people like to arrange their own flights and transfers to Corfu, particularly when combining the course with other on shore activities.
We can arrange flights and transfers for you on request. Simply drop us an email or give us a call.
Adding a Flotilla Holiday after your RYA Course
Once you have gained your Day Skipper qualification, why not put your new skills to the test and add a one or two-week flotilla straight after your course? You can follow your training week with our One Week Paxos Flotilla, Two Week Whole Ionian Flotilla, One and Two Week South Ionian Flotillas or our Two Week Faraways Flotilla, to extend your trip. And, as flights and transfers are always included for flotillas, your flights home after the flotilla will be free of charge!

These prices are for the course only and exclude flights and transfers.
Many people like to make their own way to the marina, but if you would like to add flights and/or transfers to your RYA training course, making the booking a fully ATOL-protected package, simply ask at the time of booking, we will be happy to assist. We apply a mark-up of 20% to flight costs for RYA courses.
Adding a Flotilla Holiday after your RYA Course
If you decide to add a flotilla holiday to follow your training course, and asked us to arrange flights for you, you would only be charged for your outbound flights and transfers. As flights and transfers are always included for flotillas, your flights home after the flotilla will be free of charge! We use charter flights and have a set allocation of flights, so just give us a call to check availability.
