Our Yacht Charter Destinations
Greece: A great destination for all the family
Greece is the Mediterranean's home of sailing. With its famous islands making up 20% of the total land area and a coastline of over 9000 miles. A sailor could spend years sailing Greece and discovering not only new inlets, bays and islands but whole new areas, stretching from the Aegean in the east to the Adriatic in the west.
Our Yacht Charter Division desk covers the five main sailing destinations in Greece: the Ionian Islands, Cyclades Islands, Saronic Islands and Argolic Gulf, Sporades Islands and Dodecanese Islands. While each sailing destination is centered on picturesque island hopping through crystal clear waters, they each offer distinct characteristics for the independent sailor.
Croatia: Over 1,185 islands to explore
The Adriatic coastline with its clear seas, gentle summer climate, quaint villages and historic towns, is a magnificent sailing area. Croatia is now Europe's leading yacht charter destination. Sailors are attracted by the diversity Croatia offers alongside its ability to create long lasting memories.
Croatia has an amazing 3625 miles of coastline, 2520 miles of which belongs to islands, cliffs and reefs. There are 1,185 islands in the Adriatic but only about 50 of them are populated. This makes for a glorious sailing holiday, with short-hop itineraries offering not only a surprising variety from port to port, but also the opportunity to visit islands and beaches that would otherwise be inaccessible.
Turkey: Embrace cultural immersion
Sunny skies, warm turquoise waters, cooling breezes, deserted anchorages and tranquil bays are what you'll find as you sail the southern coast of Turkey. The warmth and sincerity of the people, spectacular scenery, fascinating ruins from previous civilisations and delicious food - who could ask for more?
The Turkish coast is ideal for cruising and it stretches from the peninsula of Callipolis down to Antalya. Due to the formations of the coastline, with a large number of bays, peninsulas and inlets, it is deceiving in its length - almost 1,000 miles long.
Italy: Savour the sights and sounds
Sailing in Italy is split into four areas. There are the Tuscan Islands, Naples and the Amalfi Coast, Sicily (including the Aeolian Islands) and Sardinia. Each of these sailing areas has their own unique attraction and colour.
Yacht charter in Italy is readily accessible with regular flights to Pisa, Naples, Sicily and Sardina from most UK airport. The sailing holiday season in Italy stretched from the beginning of May through to the end of October. The peak months of July and August are the warmest and the wind is usually fairly light.
Balearic & Canary Islands: Beautiful secluded sailing
The Balearic Islands are often misinterpreted by the countless party towns in Ibiza and the large poolside villas of Mallorca. However, don’t be fooled as the Balearics offer some of the most secluded and beautiful sailing grounds in the world. From the island national park of Cabrera where anchoring is illegal and fish are plenty, to the white sand beaches of Formentera, the Balearics offer a diversity seldom found.
The Canary Islands offer slightly more challenging sailing, it really is Atlantic cruising at its best. What really makes the area special is the year round sailing season. The marinas in the area are all very modern and equipped with excellent facilities.
